Comedy Night IX Report

What a fantastic success! A sellout crowd of 180 were entertained by three top class comedians - all on the professional touring circuit- and a wonderful compere. Laughter rippled across the floor - increasing in volume as the beers and wine slipped down! The comedians had a bit of respite as the club ran another hugely successful raffle - THANKS to the local companies and individuals who contributed. Also thanks to Orion Holidays for the prize of a weekend in one of their Cirencester Lakes chalets and to Thornbury Golf Club for a voucher for tee fees for a group of four - both of which were auctioned off on the night.

As Chairman I'd like to thank everyone who helped in any way - setting up on Friday evening, helping with the event on the night, or with the clearing up (!) on Sunday morning. A particular thanks to Ruth Spencer for organising the last five Comedy Nights - (Ruth is stepping down so we do need someone to "step up" if we are to be able to continue to run this event that is a major financial contributor to the successful running of the club). Fay O'Mahoney, who has organised the raffle over the last several Comedy Nights (thanks Fay) is also stepping down - thanks to allow others the chance to get involved. All the hard work of the whole team involved was worth it as we ended up clearing over £2,500 profit! WELL DONE.
